Phillip was dubbed the Champion of Stars by his spirit animal, Chara (a Tibetan Mastiff who spoke only in iambic pentameter), and proceeded to do his best to be as helpful as possible. He actually succeeded- not only did he wind up finding the source of the missing spirit animals (even though Zatanna got killed and he got captured- whoops?), he was the winner of the true Valence. He used his to grant his captors their wish- to be together for ever. Phillip’s kind of a sucker for romance.
